When Did You Last Go to War
The battle of Prairie Grove from 1862 is one of the uncountable revivals held almost every year in memory of the American Civil War. Photographed in 2014 in Prairie Grove (AR), USA, on the relationship to war, historical identity and national pride through participation in two reenactments in the two former Cold War countries.
This re-enactment is done with genuine black powder that is shot without lead bullets. Manoeuvres are executed in the exact historical order as the battle once took place. People take great pride in playing their part accordingly.
